Hammershøi > Dreyer The magic of images

Quiet rooms, lingering panning and soulful spaces. The kinship between the painter Vilhelm Hammershoi and the film-maker Carl Dreyer is clear. The exhibition Hammershøi - Dreyer, the Magic of Images shows the strong visual and creative relationship that exits between the two artists, their methods and their artistic self-perception. And it provides a new insight into two of Denmark's greatest and most internationally acclaimed artists.  

With an age difference of 25 years, they belonged to different generations but artistically they were preoccupied by the same things. Both had an unshakable belief in their own abilities, adamant determination and rare artistic integrity. You can experience this for yourself when Ordrupgaard opens its exhibition Hammershoi-Dreyer the Magic of Images on 1 September 2006. 

 The exhibition will move to Centre de Cultura Contemporána in Barcelona in spring 2007
