In Ordrupgaard's collection of Danish art the Danish Golden Age is well represented with works by particular C.V. Eckersberg, Christen Købke, Johan Thomas Lundby, P.C. Skovgaard and Wilhelm Marstrand. Most of the collection witnesses, however the founder Wilhelm Hansen's interest in his own contemporaries represented by artists such as L.A. Ring, Vilhelm Hammershøi, Theodor Philipsen, as well as the Fynbo painters Johannes Larsen, Fritz Syberg and the childhood friend Peter Hansen.
